Network Security
The management of a business’s network security is an evolving process and is no longer met by providing a static solution. Security issues arise from both internal and external threats that may be either accidental or malicious.
Use of the Internet as a business tool has created a number of security threats that businesses did not previously face. Security threats via external attacks such as hacks or denial of service can quickly render a business vulnerable. Virus threats in both the traditional manner and via blended threats such as Internet worms also create network security issues that businesses need to protect themselves from.
The major threats to network security come from internal users. In most cases this threat is caused by users without malicious intent; however the outcome of their actions may compromise and disrupt the business.
Datasouth understands these threats and can recommend suitable solutions to mitigate the associated risks. The process is to liaise with clients and undertake a risk analysis assessment of the network infrastructure. On completion of this audit, Datasouth will analyse the results and provide a security report to the client with appropriate recommendations.
Datasouth understands that the design and implementation of an appropriate security solution is not a one off project, but a continual process requiring repetitive security assessments, as threats and network resources continue to evolve in their complexity.
